About Hamilton East Medical Centre

Hamilton East Medical Centre is a large, modern, innovative general practice. We provide medical services to over 17,000 registered patients.

The practice was founded in the 1940s and has operated from a number of premises. In 2000, the practice shifted into the purpose built building on Beale Street with eleven of the GPs being shareholders in the company of Hamilton East Medical Centre Limited.

We are governed by a Board of Directors, all of who are also practicing doctors at the Medical Centre. We also have four staff doctors and 14 nurses. The clinical team is supported by a professional team of receptionists and administration staff. The management team of three, oversees the running of the business on a daily basis.

Booking appointments

Our friendly reception staff will make appointments from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. When phoning, please tell the receptionist which doctor you would like to see and in general terms the reason for your appointment (e.g., a medical problem or an insurance medical). This will help to allocate the correct amount of time for you.

Urgent doctor

Hamilton East Medical Centre offers all our patients the services of an Urgent Doctor. This service is available for when you need to be seen in an accident or emergency situation and your own GP is unavailable.

Please phone to make an suitable appointment in the first instance. If no appointment is available, you may be referred to see our Urgent Doctor or referred on. Any non-urgent conditions, medical checks and certificates/forms are best dealt with in a scheduled appointment with your registered GP. To provide good continuity of care, it is always best to arrange appointments with your own GP.

New patient enrolments

We are happy to accept new patients. Our reception staff can advise you which doctors are accepting new patients and who might best suit your needs.
